Arts Competition in Universities

A university is a very vital place in a student’s academic life. It not only provides a platform for receiving education but also provide with immense opportunities to participate in the extra curriculum activities. Arts competition is a famous and a common one at the university level. It is a great way of conducting a healthy competition among the students. They are encouraged to show their artistic talent. This competition comes up with a whole new environment in the university for a few hours. When there are colors and canvases all around. Most of the times, these competitions are held in the auditoriums. While at other instances, students are also allowed to sit under sky and express themselves on a piece of paper or a canvas. There are times, when students make paintings on one single theme provided to them by the university. But on the other times, students are free to choose any theme and convey their ideas via colors and sketches. Arts competitions are not necessarily conducted among the university students. Sometimes, students from other universities and institutions in pakistan are also invited to take a part in the competition.

The student who has provided with the most attractive and meaningful art form is declared to be the winner. Hence the student winning the competition is awarded with a prize. Usually prize is not the driving force behind the motivation of participating in the competition. The “feel good effect” encourages the students to take part in such activities.

Presentations and Confidence Building

One learns to use of pitch and body language, in order to enhance the credibility of the presentation.  Students gain expertise in the field of presenting, by gaining experience and standing in front of a lot of people repeatedly.
